The Global Pravasi Kabaddi League (GPKL) is the first of its kind Women’s Kabaddi League in the World, being organized under the aegis of HIPSA (Holistic International Pravasi Sports Association), a National Sports Promotion Organization, working towards the promotion of our indigenous sport of Kabaddi, Globally. Keeping in line with the vision of the Government of India, with its intent to host the Summer Olympics in 2036, HIPSA through GPKL shall play a vital role in partnering this vision of India winning its maximum medals on home territory. For any sport to be considered to be included in the Olympics, it is mandatory for the sport to be played by men in 75 countries and women in 45 countries, across different continents. GPKL is set to achieve this in the next 10 years.
Being the first International Women’s Kabaddi League, the inaugural season shall take the stage in Gurugram, Haryana from 20th October 2024. GPKL is gearing up to provide a global platform to the women of Kabaddi and facilitate them with live TV exposure, prepping them to stand tall in the sport of Kabaddi.
